Auto Plaza Limited has endorsed President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s policy of developing the automobile industry. Auto Plaza Limited is introducing 2021 all new Hyundia Creta Deluxe SUV and Hyundia Grand 10 GL Sedan into the Ghanaian market.
The Chief Executive Officer of Auto Plaza, Jihad Hijazi explained that specific governmental policies were industry stakeholders. In spite of the effect of Covid-19 on the economy they deem it right to introduce these new affordable cars to Ghanaians.
He explained that although Covid-19 has had negative effect on the economy. They cannot hold on to the life’s necessities. They must move and create new opportunities for the automobile public.
According to Mr Hajazi, they must inject vitality into the dejected Covid-19 environment. He added they must go beyond the new normal and create mobility for everyone. The 2021 two new vehicles are to meet the budget of covid-19 stranded economy of people and organizations.
Mr Hijazi said the introduction of the two new vehicles are in line with the President’s policy. The policy aims at making Ghana self-reliant and to provide vehicles for all classes of income earners.
The automobile sales manager, Mr Akwasi Sarpong-Peprah said that the Ghanaian automobile industry was doing through difficult times. This was because of the Covid-19 pandemic. He stressed that there is the need to give new energy to the industry. He said the automobile industry drives the economy.
The President, His Excellency Akufo-Addo explained that there was the need to ensure that the country become self-reliant. He cited an instance during the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic when some markets in the country nearly collapsed.
He was confident that Ghana would have a home-grown automotive industry. The automotive industry would be able to transfer technology, create employment and reduce the importation of vehicles.
