LEGAL OFFICER 1

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to Management clients of the Centre and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support Head of Legal Division in fulfillment of Board Secretariat responsibilities.
  • Assist in providing advice on, review, and draft where necessary policies, guidelines, regulations, and legislation of the centre.
  • Assist in the negotiation of Bilateral Investment Treaties and other international investment agreements where required
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on effective implementation of centre legislation
  • Assist in the review, registration and record-keeping of all registered Technology Transfer Agreements
  • Draft, review and advise on agreements and contracts entered into by the Centre
  • Perform any other function/task as and when assigned by Head of the Legal Division

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must hold a law degree and licensed to practice law in Ghana
  • Must have at least between 10-12 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer in Ghana particularly in investment related legislation and policy
  • Must have an understanding and familiarity with international standards and practices in investment-related legislation and policies

  • Provide legal advice to senior and junior staff of the Centre, clients of the Centre, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support in the fulfillment of Board Secretariat responsibilities.
  • Assist in providing advice on, review, and draft where necessary policies, guidelines, regulations, and legislation of the centre.
  • Assist in the negotiation of Bilateral Investment Treaties and other international investment agreements where required.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders on effective implementation of centre legislation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must have at least between 6-9 years post-qualification experience as a lawyer in Ghana with a clear understanding of investment-related legislation and policy
  • Must have basic familiarity with international standards and practices in investment-related legislation and policies
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications is a distinct advantage
