Black Stars newboy Tarique Fosu wants to help Ghana end AFCON trophy drought

England born forward, Tarique Fosu has revealed that it is his greatest desire to help the Black Stars to end their long awaited AFCON trophy.

The Ghanaian winger earned his first cap with the Black Stars month. In the friendly matches against Mali and Qatar. He has gone to make a number appearances, including the AFCON qualifiers against Sudan.

Fosu is one of the newcomers to have impressed coach C.K Akonnor since making his first appearance.

He told the GFA media that he thinks it was a great opportunity for him to get to play for Ghana. He added that his debut delayed a bit because of Covid-19. But when the call came for him to travel to Turkey play in the International friendly, he was very happy

According to Fosu, coach C.K Akonnor call came very late. But the call came he told the coach I was very happy to join the team. He said the coach spoke to him before. He was very the coach gave him chance to perform and show his qualities.

To qualify for the next AFCON in Cameroon, the Black Stars need just a point.

Fosu is confident that the Black Stars will qualify for the 2022 AFCON competition in Cameroon. The Brentford attacker says his dream will be to win the tournament with Ghana Black Stars.

Fosu said he wants to win trophies. He added he wants to bring trophies back home. He said he will do his best to help the team as much as possible to bring a trophy to people back home.
