KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Portfolio Management:

  • To build a portfolio level relevant for branch sustainability
  • To ensure that the Branch portfolio is of good quality
  • To keep branch portfolio in good mix
  • The spread loan risk of the branch
  • Moderate the formation of efficient groups for lending purposes

2. Core Banking:

  • Ensure that cashiers start and end well daily
  • Handling of member complaints
  • Take custody of cash at the end of the day

3. Accounting

  • Ensure that the appropriate level of cash exist for efficient operations
  • Petty cash management
  • Authorization of branch expenditure within the appropriate limit
  • Processing of payment vouchers and Journals
  • Submit various returns to head office

4. Supervision

  • Appraise and set targets for staff directly reporting to him
  • Ensure that there is order and discipline in branch in line with policies
  • Prepare and submit the following reports:
  1. Statistical report to the Head of Credit on Monthly basis highlighting number of borrowers, amounts disbursed and repaid, portfolio size, delinquency level and the portfolio mix
  2. Narrative report to the Head of Credit on monthly basis
  3. Financial report to the Finance and Administration Manager monthly
  4. To lead the branch team in the preparation and review of the branch strategic plan and budget and to defend same

5. Moderate the formation of groups of predominantly women and to work with groups in a manner that improves their access to financial services and promote the growth of their business

6. Prospect for and win new borrowers for the Union and manage the loans granted in compliance with laid down policies & procedures

7. Trekking to various communities to perform duties on daily basis

8. Loan disbursement and recovery of disbursed loans in a timely manner

9. Maintaining detailed records of all members handled and producing monthly reports on same

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven working experience in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years including National Service
  • Valid license to ride a motor bike
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity, credibility, confidentiality and responsibility in all member interactions
  • Field work exposure is an added advantage
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to work to strict timelines and under pressure
  • Ability and willingness to travel across the region to carry our work and sometimes at short notice
  • Minimum of Higher National Diploma in Marketing/Accounting/Statistics or their equivalent.
  • Applicants must be aged 25 years and above
  • Initial duty post is Wechiau and only those interested in staying and working in Wechiau should apply for this position.
  • Ability to speak Dagaare/Waali is a great advantage
