Renowned Ghanaian actress, Lydia Forson has entreated all Ghanaians to go out in their numbers and express themselves through their votes.
According to her, those who refuse to take part in the voting process rather empower the individuals who vote with their stomachs to elect leaders (President and members of parliament) on their behalf.
She continued that, the result of not voting is ranting and causing unnecessary traffic throughout the day on social media.
She therefore encouraged the Ghanaian populace to ensure to be part of the change they seek to experience.
Despite her advice to the public, most of her fans stood by their grounds.
They complained that, all the candidates are the same, for they get into power and do exactly what the pass governments did.
For this reason, most of them regard voting is a “useless civic duty”.
However, a percentage of commenters appreciated the motivation and advice given to them by the award-winning actress.
As both the previous government and the current government have disappointed a good number of people, they have completely lost interest in expressing their civic duty. This is probably what Lydia Forson noticed and took it upon herself to give a good advice to Ghanaians.
If you don’t vote, you’re empowering people who vote with their stomach to chose a leader on your behalf.
And the cycle will continue with you ranting on social media all day.
Be part of the change you seek.
