\'Our training in Bawku is to stay and fight\' – Ayariga taunts ‘runaway’ Amidu

Mahama Ayariga, the member of parliament (MP) for Bawku Central has revealed that Bawku people do not run away from fights. He said that their training from Bawku is that they never run away from fights as it shows cowardice. So he wonders why Special Prosecutor, Mr Martin Amidu chose to run.

He questioned, Mr Amidu on who he expects to fight corruption. After Mr Amidu quitting his job when speaking on Accra-based Joy Fm.

I ordinarily would not be commenting on that. He thought that their training in Bawku is to stay and fight and if he was put in there to fight and he was also committed to fight corruption. He would stay and fight. Who does he expect to stay in that office and fight corruption? As somebody from Bawku and as a father, we always take inspiration from him but looks like he has abandoned the fight,”.

The member of parliament was in court with Mr Amidu over the purchase of ambulance. He said his case with Mr Amidu is still pending in court. For this reason, he is careful with his commentary about Mr Amidu’s resignation.

“We are still in court,” he added. He describe Mr Martin Amidu as his father. They come from the same constituency.

Mr Amidu made an argument that the importation of three Toyoto Land Cruiser vehicles.

Mr Amidu is of the opinion that the member of parliament should have paid duties of about GHc 36,000 but Mr Ayariga paid just Ghc 6,000 on the imported Toyota Land Cruiser

The Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper said he suspects there might be a personal feud between the two. Mr Abdul Malik Kweku Baako Junior says he suspects Mr Amidu is pursing a personal vendetta against the member of parliament (MP) for Bawku Central constituency.
